Recently, the new system by the new system of supply for NHS hospitals, as well as compensation for medical equipment, has created anxiety and uncertainty among policyholders and companies in this area.
In this light, this year's third Medtek conference will try to solve problems and distortions in the medical technology sector by highlighting the solutions and proposals for addressing them.
This conference includes scientists, experts, politicians, journalists and business executives and the public sector.
The conference will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 on Divani Caravel and organized by Athos Events, Health and Drug Policy Portal virus.com.gr and Pharma and Health Business Magazine (www.phb.com.gr). It is addressed to industry executives, hospital officials and EOPSI, healthcare professionals, academics, and students.
In international and Greece, in recent years the environment has changed dramatically. Due to economic crisis and demographic aging, financial pressures faced by health systems have faced major challenges for governments and businesses in industries.
Especially in Greece, the situation is to be suppressed, not only due to the crisis but also for the old problems and distortions. The use of medical technology and compensation becomes real and without evaluation.
Meanwhile, the recently adopted new Act adopted on the establishment of the National Center for Healthcare Procurement (ECAC) can not only solve the problems of time, but it is showing the danger of new maladies.
On the contrary, the state has done the right effort by EOICI since the beginning of the year to intervene in the provision of medical equipment and compensation, because it is a common mystery that it was a source of demand and corruption. However, the last time, there is slow progress in implementing the changes, which results in inconvenience to policyholders and businesses.
Indeed, the institutional structure includes inevitable and contradictory rules. A typical example is that the three minimum purchasing values of the special type invoiced within the European Union have to be declared as a responsible statement by "Responsible-Representative".
"Bad" is that instead of simplifying procedures and reducing bureaucracy for insurance and business, the state is exactly the opposite, presenting the new requirements is unable to understand the importance of State Medical Technology Assessment.
The topics discussed in the conference are as follows:
- Hospital Supplies: What has changed with the establishment of National Health Authority (ECAP)
- New EU Rules for Medical Equipment
- Consumable materials and medical equipment compensation by EOPYY
- Medical Technology Evaluation: International Trends, Challenges, Prospects
