Significant changes for the military service were announced by the Deputy Minister of National Defense, D. Vitsas.
In 33 years (from 35 currently in force) reduced the age limit for the acquisition of military service .
The Deputy Minister of National Defense, D. Vitsas, announced the deposit of the relevant regulation, pointing out that this is a measure with financial benefit.
The discussion of the bill concerns arrangements for career and management development and financial management and accounting of the Armed Forces and provides for the establishment of a Joint Body of Financial Inspectors.
Mr Vitsas also announced the tabling of an amendment that would allow more time for deferred military service and distinguished scientists working in the country, other than foreign scientists, already in force.
"There will be a list of research institutes that match the outside world, such as Demokritos, where the children who work there and probably their work have a lot more value than working in London to enjoy the possibility of a longer postponement of the armed forces, "he explained. Defense Minister, adding that this is how he tries to prevent "a piece of brain rain".
Also, Mr. Vitsasinformed the committee responsible of the tabling of an amendment that would honor an additional degree to wartime officers with a 100% or more disability.
Especially on this issue, the minister said there are 14 such cases of people falling under this regulation.
