Where are the adrenal glands, liver, pancreas. The human body map

When you harassing a pain in the abdomen can identify if it comes from liver, pancreas or stomach? If not, you are not alone ...

In a survey recently conducted by the Medical School of University of Lancaster, less than 15% of participants were able to recognize the right adrenal gland where they are in their body, 20% identified the spleen and 25% in the gall bladder. Even more surprising was the finding that only 4 out of 10 participants could not say with certainty where is the heart! The only institution that "succeeded" all participants was the mastermind and was fairly large percentage (90%) of participants correctly placed the cornea and biceps.

As the lead researcher, Dr. Adam Taylor, basic knowledge of the anatomy of our bodies is vital in helping us to monitor our health and to better understand any issues we face.

In some cases, this knowledge may even save our lives. "We found that only 50% of respondents know where is the appendix," says Taylor. "If someone is abdominal pain may have appendicitis, a situation that requires immediate medical attention, as in the case of rupture of the appendix threatened their life patient."

Also, the lack of anatomical knowledge undermines the effectiveness of health promotion activities. Indicatively, research Prostate Cancer UK organization indicated that one in two men do not know where the prostate gland, 17% of men did not even know they have prostate, while only 8% of men said that they know what the gland functions . Given the high incidence of cancer and other prostate diseases, it is important to know all the men basic information about him.
