Left-Left: Alivitos Commission on the process of election of leadership in the afternoon

The Alibiatsos Committee is meeting in the afternoon to go ahead with preparations for the new center-left elections.

The meeting is expected to put forward the comprehensive proposal to hold a remotely electronic vote, which was submitted by Stavros Theodorakis.

Mr Theodorakis believes that his proposal will significantly increase the electoral base. As he says, he will be able to vote for children studying abroad, scientists, the unemployed and all those who have sought solutions away from home during the crisis. Also, citizens with mobility problems and people living in remote areas will not be excluded from the electoral process.

"Our proposal does not change the timetable of the elections at all and does not entail additional financial burdens. And of course it assures the integrity of the process, which is the prime concern of all. Most importantly, remote voting will send a message to all of society that the progressive party will not be embraced at narrow party boundaries, "he said in a statement adding that the new progressive movement to be big, to be possible, hundreds of thousands of citizens have to vote for them to come to the polls from all possible streets.

The proposal, noted by the Head of the River, (a) is fully compatible with the technological solutions already advocated by the Commission by Professor NK Alivazatos; (b) does not burden the budget; (c) does not require additional time.

It provides an electronic pre-registration process for those who want to vote remotely, their identification and the way they vote.
