The plane took off from Kaunas, Lithuania, to Luton, London, but was forced to land at Stansted in Essex.
The flight has been safely landed and tested by the airport authorities.
Finally, a British Aviation spokesman said the alarm signal was wrong, and the sound heard from the airplane came from the ultrasonic speed with which it was flying:
"The RAF confirms the immediate reaction of the Typhoon fighters this morning to accompany a passenger aircraft."
"The flight from Kaunas to London Luton Airport was headed to Stansted following instructions from the Lithuanian authorities who received a false-final alert signal. The plane landed safely in Stansted and all passengers will be transported to Luton by bus, "he added.
