New price list for medicines: The deadline for objections is now ending

The deadline for pharmaceutical companies to file their objections on the posted price list by the Health Ministry is now Wednesday.

The new drug price card is due to be issued at the end of December and which, according to all estimates, will bring drastic further reductions. However, according to the design of the Ministry of Health, this price card will be the last to be issued under current legislation, as from the beginning of 2018, a radical overhaul of the framework is expected, and already in this logic, it has begun to discuss the Pharmacovigilance Monitoring Committee.

The new Correctional Drug Price Sheet applies to Traffic Card Holders, Hospitals and Private Clinics, Drug Stores and Cooperatives and Pharmacies.

According to the Department of Health, Wholesale and Hospital Prices do not include Value Added Tax. Retail prices include VAT, ie 6% or 13% per case. In areas where reduced VAT rates apply, medicines will be sold at retail prices down by 1.89% for a 6% rate and 3.54% for a 13% rate.

It is noted that the new price card does not have financial implications since the maximum amount of this expenditure does not change, as it was set for the current financial year at € 2,002,900,000.00, (€ 1,945,000,000.00 Pharmaceutical care - 57,900,000 , 00 € pharmacies of EOPYY including VAT), beyond which the automatic return / clawback mechanism is activated.
