Five Argentines celebrating their 30th anniversary since graduating from high school in New York are on the list of eight dead since the terrorist attack in New York.
One of the victims had paid tickets to his friends to get together in New York City and celebrate.
Another member of the group was injured and hospitalized in a New York hospital.
The fact was confirmed by the Argentine Foreign Minister. "We express our condolences to the death of Hernán Diego Mendoza, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damián Pagnucco, Ariel Erlij and Hernán Ferruchi," the Argentine government said in a statement.
"I'm deeply touched by the tragic deaths in the afternoon in New York," Argentine President Maurizio Macri wrote on Twitter.
Sixth of the eight victims was a Belgian, as confirmed by the country's prime minister, who announced that among the wounded are three other compatriots who had to undergo surgeries.
