World Bank: Bulgaria, Skopje, Albania more investment-friendly than Greece

Six places have "fallen" in the World Bank's ranking of ease of business.

It is ranked 67th among 190 countries with neighboring countries such as Bulgaria, Albania and FYROM being significantly higher on the Doing Business list.

The data from the World Bank Doing Business 2018 show that Greece year after year is becoming more "inhospitable" to the business although it is looking for investment. It has significantly worsened its position in the world ranking, since it was ranked 67th in last year and ranked 58th in 2015 in 67th place this year.

It is indicative that the World Bank business environment is less favorable than countries such as Skopje (11th), Romania (45th), Bulgaria (50th) and Albania (65th).

In particular, Greece scores 68.02 this year, with an excellent of 100 against 68.01 last year.

The only indicator in which the country has made a remarkable improvement is the one that examines the start-up processes, where the changes in the institutional framework have reduced the time and cost of starting a business and ranked 37th out of 56th position 2017.

Greece's position deteriorated slightly in the payment of taxes (to 76.97 out of 77.33) and the liquidation of bankruptcy (at 55.59 from 56.66).

The highest positions in the start of operations (37th), in cross-border trade (29th), the protection of minority rights (43rd), while the lowest in the inventory (145th), the implementation of contracts (131st) and the receipt of credits ).
